Energy Transformation 2200-EU002
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the legal, economic, and technical considerations pertaining to the planning and progression of the energy transition within the economies of the European Union Member States, as they transition towards low-carbon solutions. Students will be introduced to the historical progression and present status of the energy transition, presented in a chronological framework. Consequently, students will possess the ability to present the current state of energy development within the context of the ongoing and anticipated energy transition.

Knowledge: the graduate knows and understands
- economic conditions related to energy transformation;
- rules of the functioning of support mechanisms for renewable energy production;
- new methods of generating electricity and smart grid considerations;
- foundational principles underlying the social, economic, legal, and various non-technical factors influencing energy activities.
Skills: the graduate is able to
- analyse on its own issue related to energy transformation in terms of its legal land economic aspects;
- explain interconnections between current geopolitical and environmental situation and legal measures enshrined in energy and climate law;
- communicate in professional and other areas; Know the basic taxonomy used in the energy sector;
- is able to use English to the extent that allows for independent completion of education and communication with specialists in the same or related specialization, in accordance with the requirements set out for level B2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
Social competences: the graduate is ready to
- critical assessment of possessed knowledge and willingness to improves its knowledge; ability to inspire other to learn and organise learning process;
- fulfilling social obligations, organising activities for the benefit of the social environment, including conveying information and opinions of legal achievements in an understandable manner;
