Intellectual property law and intangible assets 2200-BS014S
The specialisation block covers a comprehensive and cross-cutting discussion of the key issues of intangible property law. The specialisation classes will enable students to master the knowledge and skills in intellectual property law to the extent allowing them to specialise in this area and pursue further, more advanced studies on this domain of civil law.
In particular, the following topics will be comprehensively discussed during individual classes:
- industrial property law;
- copyrights and related rights;
- law on combating unfair competition;
- regulations on protection of personal rights.
The classes are devoted to both trading in intellectual property rights (contractual issues) and their protection in practice (procedural issues). The classes will also discuss the case-law of Polish courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union. Based on practical examples (cases) students will be familiarised with the functioning of intellectual property law institutions in business and court practice.
Participation in the classes will make it possible to supplement and solidify the knowledge on civil law and private economic law, which is particularly relevant due to the increasing significance of intellectual rights in business.
