The classes are aimed at enabling students to contact with the relics of Latin literature and providing them with instruments needful for deeper understanding source texts.
For this purpose students should be taught basic inflection and syntax questions:

- the verb: indicativus activi and passivi of all tenses, imperativus, coniunctivus
- participial participles

syntax:
- basic functions of cases (genetivus partitivus, ablativus auctoris, ablativus comparationis, ablativus temporis)
-accussativus cum infinitivo, ablativus absolutus, coniugatio periphrastica passiva
- the most important functions of coniunctivus
- basic knowledge about subordinate clauses
According to the specificity of Latin for lawyers since almost the first classes legal maxims and specialist terms are introduced apart from literary texts. Some grammar topics such as imperativus futuri are presented paying special attention to the particular language relics (in this case - The Law of Twelve Tablets is presented). In the second semester of the course the reading of short fragments of such works as Institutiones, Digesta etc. is planned.
