Contract law – general course
Lectures and tutorials are the same in the scope of subjects. Their purpose is to present the institutions of Polish contract law with regard to the origins, comparative approach, legal regulations and performance of their functions.
The course deals with the following problems:
1. Place of contract law in the Polish legal system.
2. Basic concepts of contract law.
3. Consideration. Types of considerations. Cash benefits and interests.
4. Damages.
5. The multitude of creditors and debtors.
6. Contracts.
7. Torts.
8. Unjust enrichment.
9. Performance of the obligations and consequences of default.
10. Expiration of contract liability.
11. Change of creditor or debtor.
12. Joinder of claims.
Contract law – detailed course:
Lectures and tutorials are the same in the scope of subjects. Their purpose is to present the specific types of contracts, with regard to their origins, comparative approach, legal regulations (and their consequences), as well as performance of their functions.
The course deals with the following problems:
1. Subject and systematics of the detailed course on contract law.
2. Contracts governing the transfer of rights.
3. Contracts governing the use of items.
4. Obligations relating to the provisions of services.
5. Contracts governing credit relations.
6. Security of claims.
7. Agreements serving maintenance functions.
8. Business insurances.
9. Articles of association in the legal system.
10. Remittance and securities.
11. Promise to the public.
12. Gamblings.
13. Dispute settlement.

Learning outcomes
After the course (composed of lecture and classes) completion a student acquires a basic scope of knowledge regarding the rules of contract law, recognizes such rules and is able to apply them.
Assessment criteria
Examination requirements: the exam is oral and embraces the scope of general and detailed part of contract law.
