KNOWLEDGE:
K_W08 Knows the impact of regulations adopted in the EU on the media systems of the Member States;
K_W09 Knows the goals and methods of limiting the process of media ownership concentration.
K_W11 Knows the sources, methods and tools for obtaining scientific, administrative and official information in the EU area.
K_W12 Knows the views on EU initiatives for freedom of speech and the fight against disinformation.
K_W13 Knows the economic, legal and social conditions of the functioning of the media in the EU Member States.
SKILLS:
K_U01 Is able to observe, interpret, analyze and describe the principles of functioning of the media in the EU Member States.

K_U07 Can analyze solutions to specific problems in the area of the functioning of the media (guarantees of freedom of speech, restrictions on freedom of speech, limiting the process of concentration of media ownership, principles of functioning of public media, combating disinformation).

Assessment criteria:
The assessment is based on the sum of points obtained from the semester work, test and activity.
A term paper on one of the given topics (0-5 points; each student must obtain at least 3 points), test (0-5 points; each student must obtain at least 3 points), activity during classes (0-11 points; each student must obtain at least 6 points), which consists of: during two classes work in subgroups (1 point each; each student must score at least 1 point), during three classes a short 5-minute presentation of topics prepared in subgroups outside of classes (1 point each; each student must obtain at least 2 points); during six classes, the opportunity to answer questions asked by the lecturer (1 point each; each student must obtain at least 2 points). The sum of the points obtained is the basis for the final evaluation:
12 points satisfactory rating,
13 points - sufficient plus,
14 points - All right,
15 points good plus,
from 16 points - very good.
In the event of obtaining an insufficient number of points from all assessed elements, the student receives an unsatisfactory grade. In the resit examination session, the student will be able to take the resit examination in the form of a test. Class grades will be entered into the USOS by the end of the examination session.
