Humanitarian and development policy of the EU 2105-M-D3PHUE
The subject matter concerns the entirety of the relations between the European Union and developing countries. The classes are to introduce students to the EU development policy towards the main partners covered by it, divided according to regional affiliation.
The first part of the course is devoted to discussing the goals and principles of the EU development policy and its financial instruments.
The second part presents the geographical directions of the EU development policy.
The third part of the course is devoted to the mechanisms for delivering humanitarian aid and major EU humanitarian interventions.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student
Knowledge:
- has broaden knowledge of the economic problems of the modern world, the problem of poverty , the impact of economic globalization on advancing the development disparities in the modern global economy
- knows the terminology associated with the development policy of the European Union
- has broaden knowledge of the mechanism of financial support to developing countries
Skills:
- is able to use theoretical knowledge to the deepen analysis of developments in the global economy
- has knowledge enabling him to make the forecasting and simulation of processes of development in the countries covered by the problem of poverty
Competencies:
- Is prepared to work as an analyst and specialist in state institutions and non-state actors involved in the fight against poverty ,
- is able to prepare, develop, demonstrate and justify a chosen research project in the field of broader development issues and humanitarian
Assessment criteria
Active participation in the discussion, assessment of the current preparation for classes, attendance, presentation of specific research problem, work case- study
