Decision-Making Procedures in European Union 2105-EPE-L-D3DMPE
The student learns the basic terminology used to determine the decision-making procedures in the European Union and relationships that exist between the institutions. The student gets to know the relations between institutions and member states within the legal and institutional system of the European Union. The student learns the practice of EU institutions in various areas and in selected EU policies. The student finds out how
to analyze the structures and institutions involved in the EU decision-making process at various levels. The student learns to analyze solutions of selected problems in the social, political and economic areas of the European Union and Europe, and proposes appropriate solutions in this regard.

Learning outcomes
In accordance with the study program:
1) in terms of knowledge: fundamental decision-making processes taking place in the European Union. Knows the procedures and scope of processing normative acts in the EU. Distinguishes between principles and entities and actors involved in the decision-making process in the EU. Defines the procedures for creating law in the EU and the types of normative acts processed at the EU level (K_W04, K_W05).
2) in terms of skills: the student is able to work in a team, collect, analyze and present data and information regarding the decision-making process in the EU. Complement and improve acquired knowledge. Create creative solutions to change EU legislation. Analyze solutions to specific problems in the social, political and economic areas of the European Union, analyze the functioning of EU institutions and bodies (K_U05, K_U06, K_U10).
3) in terms of social competences: cooperates in a group by implementing specific projects related to the EU decision-making process, functions effectively on the labor market, undertakes entrepreneurial and creative activities (K_W04, K_W05).
Assessment criteria
During the course are used in diverse, complementary working methods.
Final rating is a weighted average of the partial assessments within the subject:
1) The activity assessed on each class;
2) Lecture problem - preparing presentations;
3) Workshops.
