Sources of European Integration 2105-EPE-L-D1SOEI
The course is expected to provide students with comprehensive understanding of communication policies and communication strategies implemented by key Institutions of European Union. Particular attention is put on the mechanisms of creating information policies and the evolution of communication strategies at the level of the European Union. Additionally, the focus is put on the communication related organizations that function in the member states of the European Union and have impact on the informational policy of the EU. Finally, the cooperation trends between the EU Institutions and major informational networks are taken into consideration in order to explain the essence of the EU communication policy at present.

After completing the course a graduate knows and understands:
- the process of creating the information policy of the European Union (K_W03);
- methods of searching and selecting information on key institutions of the European Union (K_W05);
- basic and diverse methods, tools and techniques of obtaining and processing data about the European Union (K_W03);
Skills
A graduate is able to:
- use diverse theoretical knowledge and research methods of social sciences to obtain and interpret data on the European Union (K_U02);
- analyze at a basic level solutions to the dilemmas of creating EU information policy (K_U05);
- work effectively in a group (K_U11).
Social competence
The graduate is ready to:
- define priorities for the implementation of a task defined by himself and others relating to educational goals (K_K01)
Assessment criteria
Participation in classes is mandatory to pass the course. Only 1 absence is allowed.
The grade consists of the following elements:
25% - contribution to class discussion;
25% - preparation of group project;
50% - final test

85-90% - B+
75-84% - B
70-74% - C+
51-69% - C
0-50% - F
