This course is designed to help students to analyze Japanese economic policy from as diverse perspectives as possible, ever making extensive use of visual materials.
The macro-level analysis by students on the way Japanese economic policy has impacted the global economy is balanced by their micro-level analysis on the way the policy impacts business and individuals in Japan.
No previous knowledge of Japan, Japanese language, or prior enrollment in a particular course is required.

(4) Cultural and social aspects of economic transition
Assessment criteria
Grades will be weighted as follows:
50% Active participation
25% Quizzes based on visual materials
25% Oral exam
