On completion of the unit students should be able to:
• Understand and apply the main theories and models of economic development, and link them with a real-world cases;
• Understand the role of markets and institutions in the process of economic development;
• Search, access and examine the main sources of economic and social data relevant to economic development.

Assessment criteria
Exam: written exam – 100 % of total mark, multiple choice + discussion questions, in-class exam during the exam session time.
Student needs to score at least 55% in the final exam to receive a positive grade.
