The lecture is to familiarize students with the following topics:
● The origin and development of the social security
● Social Security social security scheme
● The social security system - legal analysis (concept of insurance risk, the scope of legal protection)
● Funding social security - Social security contribution (the rules determining basis, height)
● The organization of the social security system in Poland
● social security obligation under Polish law (statutory titles compulsory social insurance, the principle of voluntary accession to the insurance)
● social security rules under EU law (Regulation 883/2004 and Regulation 987/2009)
● Pension insurance (the rules of the pension system, the concept of filarowości, scope, scope of, the types of pensions in the Polish social security system, the conditions for entitlement to benefits, the rules of their size, the accumulation of other benefits and income, providing real value of benefits
● Disability Insurance (rules of the pension system, scope, scope of benefits, disability insurance, the conditions for entitlement to benefits, the rules dimension, the principle of combining with other benefits and income)
● Health insurance (principles, scope, scope of, the types of benefits, the conditions for entitlement to benefits, the rules for calculation)
● Health Protection (principles, scope, the scope of the right to benefits, the rules for granting benefits)
● Accident Insurance (rules, accident insurance development approach, the legal concept of an accident at work, accident insurance benefits, the conditions for entitlement to benefits, the rules of their size and the award)
● The system of unemployment benefits (in principle, the personal scope, the scope of, the types of benefits)
● The system of social assistance (in principle, the scope of, the types of benefits, the conditions for entitlement to benefits)
● The system of family benefits (principles, scope, scope of, the types of benefits, the conditions for entitlement to benefits
● Social security in the activities of the International Labour Organization, the Council of Europe and European Union regulations. Selected issues.
On exercises will be analyzed Polish social security system based on the current legislation in this area (including the rules of organization and financing of the system, scope, scope of - the types of benefits, the conditions for entitlement to benefits, the realization of the right to benefits).

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student has a basic and structured knowledge about social security, knows the rules and regulations in this area. Recognize their nature, extent.
Skills: The student is able to independently analyze, evaluate different solutions for social security. Can indicate social benefits, the conditions for the grant to eligible persons.
Assessment criteria
Learning outcomes
After completing the course students will be able to discuss the origins and development of social security schemes in Poland and Europe, undertake a comparative analysis of Polish and European solutions adopted in this field, be familiar with the categories of social security benefits, social security law, EU regulations on social security, coordination of social security schemes and with the basic European Court of Justice case-law in the area of social security.
