Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student identifies factors determining the course of demographic processes in the past and present, recognises the social, economic and political consequences of demographic processes, is able to analyse statistical tables showing the course of population processes, is able to draw conclusions from the analysis of statistical data on the course of demographic processes, is able to attempt to design measures to influence population processes on a regional scale.
At the end of the course students know and understand, and are able to in a population perspective:
- K_W02 types, manifestations, structures and dynamics of social problems on a national, local, global scale and the relationships between them and their structural conditions in the context of social policy,
- K_W03 transformations of family, neighbourhood, local, professional ties and structures; has advanced knowledge of the nature, sources and consequences of these changes for social policy.
- K_U01 interpret social phenomena accurately recognizing social problems, social issues and social risks, and is able to indicate their economic and socio-demographic conditions in the context of social policy.
Assessment criteria
Verification of knowledge in the form of an examination test. The subject of the test is to assess the degree of knowledge of demographic concepts and basic values and statistical trends in population processes, as well as knowledge of population processes and potential measures for them.
