Basics of Knowledge of Law 2103-L-D1PPRA
The subject is an introduction to other legal subjects, such as civil law, international law and European law. The classes discuss basic legal concepts, such as: the essence and functions of law and its relationship with other normative systems (in particular morality), legal norms and regulations. Principles of law and their impact on the interpretation of law, as well as its effectiveness, justice and basic functions. Sources of law. The legal system. Interpretation of the law. Validity, observance and application of the law.

The course introduces students to basic concepts of law sciences. The knowledge gained should enable autonomous analysis of legal acts. |

Learning outcomes
The student has the ability to correctly understand the law and its practice as tools creating a system of social policy institutions at the national and European Union level, including
legal and administrative basis and scope of activities of national and local entities
social policy and the principles of financing and managing social policy institutions. The student has the ability to: correctly use legal concepts and reasoning; analyzing simple legal and legal texts using appropriate vocabulary and legal methodology; identifying legal problems arising from various factual situations and assigning them to specific areas of law and schools of thought about law; searching and organizing information about law and legal science (K_W09).
The student is able to critically analyze the basic legal tools enabling the creation of social programs, including social policy activities on various scales and areas, including identifying interests and value systems in the social program and explaining their relationship with specific solutions. The student is able to assess the threats to legislative activity resulting from the imperfection of legal practice tools and variability in its understanding resulting from various theories of interpretation of legal texts (K_U02).
