Knowledge: The graduate knows and understands
1. Theoretical conceptual categories and models of public policy in an advanced degree.
2. Diverse approaches to public policy in an advanced degree (approaches: sectoral and horizontal; approaches: local, national, regional, and supranational).
3. The methodology of public policy research in an advanced degree and the place of public policy within the social sciences.
4. Factors and conditions influencing the public policy process.
Skills: The graduate is able to
1. Critically analyse the processes of problem formation and resolution in the public sphere.
Attitudes: The graduate is prepared
2. To critically assess scientific and social debates in the area of public policy, as well as their participation in these debates, including recognising the significance of scientific evidence and the role of experts in the process of creating and implementing public policy.
3. To inspire, initiate, and participate in the process of creating and evaluating public policy in various scales and fields, including designing, presenting, and implementing their own solutions based on analysis and experience.

1. Apply the theories of the public policy process to their own research concept of a selected public policy process.
2. Apply the method of practical public policy analysis to a selected public issue.
Assessment criteria
1. Attendance is mandatory. More than two absences require additional credit for the missed topics. More than six absences result in automatic failure of the course.
2. The lecture will be organised so that students read the relevant texts and complete related tasks before the lecture and exercises on the given topic.
3. Students will participate in the process of preparing a research project on the applications of public policy process theory.
4. Students will participate in the process of preparing a practical project on the applications of the practical policy analysis method.
5. The completion of each task will be assessed, and the weighted sum of all task grades will be used to determine the overall grade.
