Data Protection and Privacy on the Internet 2100-CB-M-D3ODIP
The classes aim to familiarize participants with concepts related to data protection and online privacy. Participants will be introduced to data protection legislation (with a special focus on GDPR). The course will address how regulatory requirements must be met in managing the storage of resources in databases and the potential publication of certain data online. Methods of secure information transfer, with particular emphasis on sensitive data, will also be presented. The main threats related to data storage and transfer, as well as ways to prevent them, will be described. At the end of the semester, students will be required to complete a project to apply the knowledge they have acquired in practice.
