Urban designing II 1900-6APU2
Objectives of the course: To raise participants' ability for an active and creative performance when faced with the surrounding reality. Course is focused on the creation of that reality in scope of 3-dimensional shape of the urban space. Student should develop their sensitivity of space aesthetics, which is essential for the professional performance of spatial management specialists.
Course contents: Students prepare urban designs of a shopping center with residential quarters in one of chosen places. The work on a design begins with creation of synthetic conceptual sketches. Then models are prepared as a visualization of conceptions. Students prepare drawings of spatial management that show buildings' shapes, public spaces, transportation infrastructures and greenery.
Assessment methods: Assessment of a design presented on the final exhibition is based on the quality of content-related solutions, the independence and the creativeness of a student during his work and aesthetics of a graphical presentation of a design.
