Social psychology 1900-6APS
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic theories explaining human social behavior. Students have the opportunity to understand the influence of perception of themselves on perception and evaluation of others. The course presents the processes and phenomena in a group and the ways of influencing them. It presents the issues of conflict and communication in conflict; discusses the issue of persuasion and social influence; presents strategies of interpersonal communication; explains the issues of prosocial and antisocial behavior.

1. is familiar with issues related to the key areas of social psychology
2. defines basic concepts, processes, mechanisms
3. knows the rules of effective interpersonal communication
SKILLS
1. compares the effectiveness of different methods of social impact
2. Plans effective actions shaping…. the social attitudes
3. identify factors facilitating effective group work
4. is able to predict the effectiveness of different means of interpersonal communication
ATTITUDES
1. considers himself as an individual entering into relationships with others
2. understands the role of social determinants in regional development
3. appreciates the value of shaping pro-social attitudes, ecological attitudes; understand his/her abilities to impact this area
4. appreciates the effectiveness of appropriate interpersonal communication
Assessment criteria
Written exam. Open questions that require a creative application of knowledge.
