Geography of tourism in Arab countries 1900-5-GTKA-WW
Objectives of the course:
Gaining knowledge about the tourism geography of selected Arabic countries, in particular about the most important cultural and natural attractions, tourist traffic and tourist regions.
Contents:
Characteristics of the main regions and tourist attractions as well as conditions for the development of tourism in selected Arabic countries (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, UAE, Oman, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar).
The lecture will also provide information on the tourist traffic, tourist resorts and various types of infrastructure and the tourism strategy in the selected countries. In addition, students will also learn practical information about traveling in Arabic countries. This knowledge will be supplemented with current information about the political, socio-economic situation of countries and about the natural conditions of tourism development.
Estimated number of hours that the student must spend to achieve the learning outcomes defined for the subject:
2 ECTS lecture x 25 h. = 50h., including:
30 hours - hours in direct contact with the teacher, i.e. participation in classes,
20 hours - student's own contribution: 10 hours reading the literature, 10 hours preparation of a written assignment
