Master's seminar III 1900-3-SM3-HIK
In the seminar, there are discussed the issues of source materials acquisition. Research methods are described in the context of available data. Critical analysis of obtained data and preliminary results are developed. Given subjects of the MSc diploma works are worked out and the existing state of knowledge. Students are getting familiar with the process of diploma work preparation

Knowledge:
- understanding the fundamental processes in the natural environment
- descriptive statistic methods used in geographical phenomena description
- understanding of hydrology and climatology processes differentiation in various scales
- description of cause-effect relations.
Skills:
- proper use of terminology used in diploma work
- selection of proper geographical data analysis method
- is able to conduct individual research using literature and databases.
- can show at a seminar a PP presentation of the research results
Assessment criteria
Requirements:
- two time presentation of the diploma work structure, research hypothesis, sources of the data, literature review.
- preparation of the seminar report
- student activity at the seminar
- two cases of absence allowed.
In case of absence, it is recommended to find a new term for presentation.
To get the grade it is required to submit the di[ploma work, accepted by the supervisor.
