Geographic Information Systems 1900-3-SIG-KT
Lecture topics (GIS) include: models and data structures, definition of coordinate systems, operations on spatial data (concept of map algebra, automation of GIS functions, methods of representing surfaces), introduction to databases, issues related to decision support, concept of the planning process in GIS, Python in ArcGIS Pro - automating data analysis using ArcPy, ArcGIS API Python, and Notebooks.
Computer labs are devoted to practical uses acquired during lectures knowledge on geographic information systems and understanding the structure of programs to create these systems, and the practical use GIS software packages for processing spatial data and spatial analysis and visualization the results. An integral part of the exercise is the realization of an individual project including acquisition, processing and visualization of spatial data .
(N) - work in direct contact with the teacher,
(S) - student's own (independent) work.
Classes (lecture) = 30h (N)
Classes (exercises) = 15h (N)
Project (student's own work) = 15h (S)
