Climatological field practics 1900-3-PRK-HK
The classes prepare students to independently carry out scientific research in the field of meteorology and climatology, based mainly on data collected in the field. They allow to improve the techniques of meteorological measurements and observations (at standard meteorological and field stations) and develop the ability to interpret the obtained results. As far as possible it is so Types of translations
The aim of the classes is:
- gaining practical skills in obtaining source materials used in meteorology / climatology;
- establishing professional contacts with specialists and practitioners;
- acquiring the ability to investigate and evaluate meteorological conditions on a local scale, taking into account various applications of the conducted measurements
- acquiring practical skills in the use of radar images / satellite images
- improving the techniques of meteorological measurements and observations
Assumptions:
- work is performed individually or in small groups under the supervision of a specialist;
- the results of measurements are used in the research work of the Department and in the conducted diploma theses;
- internships may be conducted in cooperation with IMWM measurement services or other research units.
Chamber works include:
- training in measurement and selection of research methods;
- preparation of measurement results;
- workshops on recognizing signatures in radar photos
Field exercises are aimed at:
- performance of assigned / independently initiated research and measurement tasks;
- topoclimatic measurements in various types of landscape;
- practical aspects of field research.

Assessment criteria
Internship - credit
Continuous assessment:
- attendance
- timely implementation of the next stages of field work
- development and analysis of measurement results
- activity during classes (reporting problems that arise during the performance of tasks, interpretation of the obtained results, participation in discussions, ideas of non-standard solutions, application significance of research)
- participation in the preparation and presentation of a summary lecture
It is recommended to present the research results, e.g. at a scientific meeting of the Department of Climatology.
