Transformations in Middle and Eastern Europe after the 2nd World War 1900-1FESW-OG
Objectives of the course:
Student should gain knowledge of phenomena and processes that formed everyday living and economy in Eastern and Middle Europe after 1945. Student should learn and properly recognize abbreviations for country and organization names as well as the names of their main personalities.
Course contents:
1. Introduction. The 40s.The "Big Three" conferences - Tehran, Yalta, Potsdamforming of two centres of power in Poland Poland: territory changes, relocations of the population "cold war"comunist governments seize power in countries under the soviet influence, founding of COMECONGerman matter - Treaty of Zgorzelec, eastern treatiesThe Marshall Planreferendum "3 time yes", agricultural reform, nationalization of industry, battle for trade, planned economy in Polandforming of the party system in Poland.
2.The 50s.Stalin and stalinism, July Constitution, establishment of the Warsaw PactUprising in East Germany, Poznań UprisingXX Convention of KPZR - mistakes and perversions, towards the thaw, power changes in USSRPoland: Poznań 1956 protests, Polish October, state-church relationsHungarian Revolution of 1956.

0.5 ECTS (15 hours) - hours in direct contact with the teacher, i.e. participation in classes, 0.5 ECTS (15 hours) - student's own contribution, including getting acquainted with the literature and preparation for passing.
