Ethical challenges in socially engaged research 1600-SZD-ID-WENS
The aim of the course is to reflect on specific ethical challenges associated with the critical and participatory research process in participatory action research (PAR), community-based research, indigenous studies, social movement research, research in middle and low income countries. Through analysis of various research projects and case studies, we will address topics such as informed consent, right to withdraw from research, fair benefit sharing, respect for diversity, protection of cultural heritage, vulnerability of research participants, collective production of knowledge, identification and overcoming relations of power, empowerment of research participants, decolonialising, social justice
