(in Polish) Strategia publikacyjna, rynek czasopism naukowych, otwarta nauka- Nauki o sztuce 1500-SDN-SP-NOS
The aim of the course is to familiarise doctoral students with the diverse publishing practices and strategies of representatives of arts studies, with a particular focus on:
1) Different national and linguistic traditions (mainly Polish, Anglo-Saxon, and German, with less emphasis on French and Italian);
2) Differences between specialisations and sub-disciplines (research on various fields of artistic production, specialisations in ancient epochs and contemporary phenomena);
3) The differences between a strategy of building up individual achievements and a strategy geared towards the evaluation criteria of larger collections (evaluation of research units or scholarly disciplines);
4) The role of achievements in the procedure of evaluating applications for research project funding and scholarships;
5) Practical aspects of preparing papers and scholarly publications (choosing a journal or publishing house and adapting to its profile and expectations, understanding the review procedure).

Active participation in classes is the basis for passing. One unexcused absence or two excused absences are allowed. Each absence requires individual completion of the material covered in the missed classes.
