Designing and planning research / preparing IRP,grant acquisition and management 1500-SDN-PIPB-A
During the classes, students will learn the basics of research planning, identify potential sources of research funding and research scholarships, and familiarize themselves with practical aspects of grant applications. We will pay most attention to the programs of the National Science Center, especially the PRELUDIUM program, but we will also talk about other potential sources of financing (programs of the National Agency for Academic Exchange, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the National Geographic Society and others, depending on the interest of the course participants).
In the practical part of the course, we will talk about the specificity of the four elements of the research plan (research objectives, potential impact on the discipline, implementation, methods), we will also learn how to construct a Gantt chart and identify risks. We will also focus on issues related to long-term planning: from pilot studies to a large interdisciplinary research project.
