(in Polish) Pisanie i redakcja tekstu akademickiego dla humanistów 1500-SDN-AW-PIRTNDH
The aim of this course is to improve practical skills in writing and editing academic texts in the area of humanities, as well as to develop the ability to work consciously and creatively with the word. In the course of the class we will acquire the principles and techniques of translating research activities into a coherent, clearly structured, communicative academic paper. The workshop will cover such issues as planning the writing process, research and conceptualisation of the subject, possible inspirations, the use of creative thinking in the preparation of a scientific text, verbalising and organising the hypotheses, building the problem structure of the thesis and carrying out an argument, drawing conclusions, formulating the conclusion. The classes are designed to practically support the participants in the process of developing their own writing methods and style, but always in compliance with academic standards, principles of (Polish) language culture and basic editorial rules.
During the course of the class, the participants learn about the subsequent stages of text production:
- the preliminary phase (idea, formulation of the theme, selection and ordering of collected material, selection of interpretative tools);
- the writing process and related issues;
- editing of the text, utilising reviewers' comments.
The class has a primarily practical dimension. Each participant will complete a set of tasks (combinatorial, analytical, synthetic and creative) as part of the course. These are intended to provide the impulse for individual work on an original, authentic text. An important part of the course will also be teamwork, the ability to discuss, form a critical evaluation while respecting the boundaries of others in the group.
