Selected legal aspects - Water law 1300-SP-WAPW
The lecture will discuss basic issues related to the stages of establishing Community law regarding water protection and issues related to the implementation of EU water directives into Polish legislation. Based on the Act of July 20, 2017, "Water Law", issues related to water management in accordance with the principle of sustainable development will be presented, in particular the development and protection of groundwater resources, the use of water and the management of water resources. The following topics will be discussed: general regulations, rules for water use, water protection, water management.

Knowledge:
W01 - at an advanced level, selected problems and research methods in the field of natural sciences, constituting basic general knowledge in the field of scientific disciplines important for hydrogeology
W02 - theories explaining complex relationships between phenomena and objects that are components of the natural environment and sees multiple relationships between them
W04 – at an advanced level, facts, objects and phenomena constituting basic general knowledge in the field of water management
W06 - knows the principles of sustainable development in socio-economic life
Skills:
U02 - select the appropriate methodology to solve a research or design problem and use the acquired knowledge to formulate and solve complex and unusual problems
U05 evaluate and verify projects and tasks performed using modern information techniques (e.g. GIS, remote sensing, AutoCad)
U06 - identify the strengths and weaknesses of standard actions taken to solve hydrogeological and environmental problems
U07 - assess environmental effects in spatial development plans
U09 - basic legal, administrative, economic and financial procedures regarding applied geology, in particular professional activities related to hydrogeology
Social competence:
K01 - effective communication with the environment, including specialists from various fields, in the field of hydrogeology
K04 - fulfilling obligations and co-organizing activities resulting from awareness of political and socio-economic geo-environmental conditions

Assessment of presented issues selected by the student, participation in the discussion. Graduate based on written work.
