The classes are concentrated on:
- preparation of the granulometric analysis and results interpretation
- calculating the permeability coefficient by empirical formulas
- determination of hydrogeological parameters of rocks in the King’s pipes
- interpretation of hydrogeological cross-section
- interpretation of hydroizohypse map,
- computer programs for the interpretation of hydrogeological conditions
- analysis of physicochemical properties of groundwater
- interpretation and graphical projection of the physicochemical analysis of water
- techniques to identify potential sources of contamination
- familiarization with the methods of climatic and hydrogeological research in the Research Station at the Faculty of Geology of the University of Warsaw.

Learning outcomes
After completing the classes a student:
- distinguishes and calculates hydrogeological parameters of aquifer by different methods (laboratory and field methods)
- recognizes and identifies the laminar and turbulent flow
- interprets map of hydroizohypses and hydroisobathes
- implements appropriate numerical schemes for graphical interpretation of hydrogeological phenomena,
- characterizes physicochemical properties of groundwater
- interprets in graphical form and classifies groundwater chemistry; evaluates the quality of hydrochemical data
- specifies technical parameters of the well, depending on the hydrogeological situation
- identifies and recognizes the problems associated with the exploitation of groundwater in the water intakes.
Assessment criteria
To finally complete the exercise can begin after correctly (credited by the teacher) completion of all tasks. Final assessment of the exercises based on the written colloquium according to criteria established in the first class. There are two colloquium dates (including: the first and retake colloquium).
Attendance is obligatory. Three excused absences are allowed. Absence from class requires the performance of the task carried out in class. Laboratory classes should be done in another group.
Practical placement
none
