Geology of mineral deposits 1300-OGZ3LC2
The classes are devoted to introduction the students to research methods commonly used by economic geologist during exploration and evaluation of mineral raw materials. Students will learn how to recognize the texture of different genetic types of raw materials, get acquainted with the methods of ore petrography and fluid inclusion studies that helps to identify the origin and source of the fluids. In addition, the introduction to EPMA will be made.

Learning outcomes
Students who pass the classes know how to choose the right set of research methods in order to being able to design a program of prospecting and exploration for mineral resources. In addition, the students are also able to determine the structure and texture of ores, are familiar with the methods of ore microscopy, and fluid inclusion study, as well as the interpretation of the analytical data collected during the investigations.
Assessment criteria
Classes end with a written test. To pass you must obtain 51% of the maximum number of points. The condition for the test approach is attendance (2 absences are allowed).
