Civil Engineering 1300-OBD4CW
The lecture is to familiarize students with:
- The Construction Law and its definitions.
- Elements of the construction project.
- Construction materials used in civil engineering and their characteristics.
- Requirements for the buildings.
- The basics of building physics related to heat flow, moisture content changes and fire safety.
- Principles of structural elements shaping.
- The definition of load of structural elements
- Structure of buildings constructed in the technology of brick, concrete and metal.
- Protection of underground and above-ground parts of buildings against the moisture and water influence.
- Rules of repair of masonry construction, reinforced concrete and steel.
Classes are devoted to preparation of projects of construction elements:
- Description of the construction and technical condition of a building,
- Project of an element of reinforced concrete structure on the example of the feet or footing
- Bending and strength of metal construction components on the example of steening,
- Calculation of the impact of foundations on horizontal deformations of the area,
- Calculation of earth pressure on the lateral surfaces of the foundation walls
