The subject of the course will be to present the issues of work with students with special educational needs, including the diagnosis of needs. Assessing the knowledge of students with various functional difficulties and dysfunctions e.g. visually impaired, blind, dyslexic and motor disabled students will also be discussed.

Learning outcomes
After the class, the student will be able to identify the specific needs of students.
In particular:
- knows and understands the standards, procedures and good practices used in pedagogical activity. the issue of inclusive education, as well as the ways of implementing the principle of inclusion; diversifying the educational needs of students; teaching content and the typical difficulties of students in mastering them; teaching methods and selection of effective teaching aids, conducting classes, taking into account the diverse educational needs of students
- can observe pedagogical situations and events, and propose solutions to problems, undertake work with students awakening their interests and developing their talents, properly select the content of teaching, tasks and forms of work as part of self-education, and develop creativity and the ability of independent, critical thinking of students
- is ready to make decisions related to the organization of the inclusive education process.
Assessment criteria
Presentation on a selected topic discussed during the class + test with possible open and closed questions. The final grade is a component of the marks from the presentation (40%) and the test (60%). Two unexcused absences during classes are allowed.
