Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology - proseminar 1200-1CHMLBMP5
As part of the seminar classes, students will be able to actively expand their knowledge of the topics covered in the laboratory in molecular biology and biotechnology. The aim of the seminar classes is to systematize knowledge, as well as to make students aware of the practical use of modern achievements of molecular biology and biotechnology, especially medical biotechnology and other biotechnological specialties used in the treatment, diagnostics, and improvement of the living of the modern society.
Part of the course will be devoted to directly supplementing the issues related to individual laboratory classes, eg in the field of computations used in biotechnology, the use of advanced molecular biology techniques in diagnostics and treatment. The rest of the course will be devoted to bioinformatics, primarily in the context of proteins. The last part is a science - critical analysis of literature on topics covered in the laboratory and/or a lecture on medical biotechnology, by assessing a particular scientific publication in the form of a presentation.

Learning outcomes
The student is able to conduct and understand the basic issues related to computation in biotechnology, has extended knowledge of the use of laboratory techniques in medical biotechnology, is able to search and critically analyze scientific literature on the subject, present complex projects in the field of medical biotechnology in a simple and understandable way, communicate to the public science achievements.
Assessment criteria
The average of the two grades: presentation grades (assessed in terms of correctness, clarity, quality) and grades of tasks/tests (written and oral statements) taken during the classes. Both activities will take place with the use of GSuite or similar tools or in the room.
