Laboratory of geometrical and instrumental optics 1100-1BO11
The Laboratory of geometrical and instrumental optics " give experimental skill in measurements of basic optical components and in construction of simple optical systems and instruments. It is intended for students of the first year of BSc studies "Applications of physics in biology and medicine" (specialization "Ocular optics"). Knowledge of mathematics and physics at the secondary school level as well as participation in course 1100-1B05 "Geometrical and instrumental optics' are sufficient to follow laboratory exercises. The main task is to gain practice in optical components measurement techniques and understand basic phenomena in image formation process in optical systems.
Program:
1. Measurements of refractive index using gonimeter.
2. Paraxial approximation in optical systems.
3. Characterization of complex optical systems.
4. Newton's rings.
5. Construction and functions of optical instruments
6. Aberrations in optical systems.
Requirements for completion of the lecture:
- student should attend all laboratory exercises
- positive grades from all laboratory exercises and final practical colloquium.
The final grade is an arithmetic average of the grades from laboratory exercises (50%) and the grade form final practical colloquium (50%)
