Soft skills in IT Project Managment 1000-2M24ZPZ
Each class consists of a lecture part (theory) and a practical part (tutorial).
1. Project management methodologies recap. The importance of mindset and its impact on the project with special focus on differences between the waterfall and the agile methodologies and their implementations.
2. Roles, ceremonies and expected results – overview based on Scrum and Kanban.
3. Customer Centricity – techniques and tools used to identify customers’ needs.
4. How to work in an Agile team? Stages of formation to create a self-sufficient team, potential team dysfunctions, team internal and external communication, ownership and empowerment.
5. Agile approach to testing (shift left testing) in a modern team.
6. Individual and group development. Styles of communication, feedback, coaching, mentoring.
7. Scalable Agile methodology with SAFe as an example (introduction and PI Planning simulation).
8. Creative Problem Solving, a set of tools helpful in challenging situations (i.e. Liberating Structures, Problem Solving Workshop, 5Why, Toyota A3).

Learning outcomes
Knowledge the student:
* knows and understands the principles of Agile project management.
Abilities: the student is able to
* acquire information from the literature, knowledge bases, the Internet and other credible sources, integrate and interpret that as well as draw conclusions and formulate opinions,
* plan and realize personal lifelong education goals,
* evaluate on the basic level the utility of routine methods and computational tools as well as to choose and apply the correct method and tools in typical activities done with help of information technology,
* plan and organize individual and team work including interdisciplinary one; manage own time as well as take up duties and meet deadlines.
Social competences: the student is ready to
* critically evaluate acquired knowledge and information
* act responsibly in her/his professional role, taking into account the changes in social needs; develop the legacy and maintain the ethos of the profession; comply with, develop and promote professional ethics,
* recognize the significance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems and the importance of consulting experts when difficulties arise in finding a self-devised solution.
