American Literary Magazines (Amerykańskie czasopisma literackie) 4219-AW233
The course will trace the history and significance of the literary magazine in the American literary canon. It will explore key issues around authorship, editing, advertising, circulation, and reading networks over a two hundred period into the present day. Case studies of key publications and digital archives will be presented as added layers of knowledge in addition to the broad overview. The social and cultural consequences of these transformations will also be discussed, especially in the context of the modern day digital environments.
