1) Knowledge:

The student defines, periodizes, and characterizes the structural phases of the post-1991 global order, including the transition from the "End of History" to the emerging "Cold War II" framework.

The student identifies and explains key systemic elements of great-power rivalries, such as ideological contestation, bloc formations (NATO, BRICS, AUKUS), nuclear deterrence, and proxy conflicts.

The student understands the role of economic leverage, including sanctions, decoupling, and technological interdependencies, in contemporary geopolitics.

2) Skills:

The student critically evaluates modern geopolitical flashpoints (e.g., the Russia-Ukraine war, Taiwan tensions) by applying and assessing the limits and benefits of historical analogies.

The student analyzes cutting-edge political science and historical research literature, including policy working papers, to contextualize shifting global balance of power.

3) Social Competences:

The student demonstrates the ability to engage objectively and analytically in academic and public debates regarding global security risk, grand strategy, and international realignments.
