Digital Health 3500-FAKANG-DH
During the course students learn about recent and current developments in health care systems’ digitalization: including therapeutics, diagnostics, artificial intelligence, automated care pathways, patient (self)management. The following topics are covered during the meetings:
Health care systems – traditional typology
Digitalization of primary health care
Internet of things in digital health
AI in diagnostics
Barriers to e-health: professionals and clients
E-health for older adults
Case studies: Estonia, Canada, Norway, Germany, Poland
Mental health and digitalization
Quality control, ethics, and equality

Efekty kształcenia
Students are familiar with basic health care systems in Europe, and are able to compare them. Students understand the role of digital tools used in various elements of health care systems (therapeutics, diagnostics, care pathways, care management, delivery of care services). Students are able to criticize the use of the digital tools in health with respect to their limitations and consequences for patients in a local and global context.
Students are able to discuss ethical issues related to digital health care.
Kryteria oceniania
Written test (70% of final grade), active participation in classes (20%), preparing notes from a meeting (10%). Passing conditional on collecting 50% of all possible points.
