The central aim of the course is to provide students with general knowledge on memory and learning processes, basic approaches, theories and research paradigms. First part of the lecture contains historical overview and introduction to classic theories and paradigms, followed by new directions in neuroscience studies. Further, it will review classical memory models and learning paradigms. These will be followed by a presentation of connections between learning and memory and other psychological processes such as emotions and motivation processes. Finally the course will discuss dysfunctions and effect on memory and learning in real life, providing information about meta-memory and learning strategies.
