The aim of this course is to introduce the Students to the area of developmental psychology. We will start by defining development as a continuous, cumulative and holistic process. We will discuss the issue of developmental changes and their origins. We will give an overview of research methods and theories in developmental psychology. We will discuss, one by one, the key areas in human development from birth to late childhood: biological, cognitive development, communicative, emotional and social. |
