The challenges of parenting in postmodern society are multifaceted,
stemming from the intersection of various socio-cultural factors. The reality
presents parents with dilemmas including the struggle to balance work and
family responsibilities, the impact of digital technologies on child

Moreover, the diversification of family configurations, such as single-parent
households and blended families, necessitates adaptive parenting
approaches tailored to the unique circumstances of each family.
It is also crucial to maintain a position where a parent can be seen as an
autonomous entity, separate from their parental role. Recognizing the
parent's individual needs and ongoing developmental trajectory
underscores the dynamic interplay between personal growth and
caregiving responsibilities.
Through out the course we will take a challenge of embracing perspectives
of both parenting and parenthood and investigating how it informs
interventions and support systems aimed at optimizing both parental
well-being and the quality of caregiving within familial contexts.
