International Economics 2400-ENSM001B
The course consists of two parts offered in two semesters of the second year of the MA program. During the first meetings in the winter semester students learn how to use various resources to identify potentially interesting research topics and derive testable hypotheses. Students become exposed to various internet resources and databases as well as resources allowing them to write effectively in English. During the summer semester students present preliminary results of their own research.

Knowledge of other courses related to international economics may be helpful.
Official requirements
Knowledge of advanced core courses. Students should have some modeling skills. Knowledge of econometrics is also desirable. Upon the completion of the course students will be able to write an MA thesis.

Efekty kształcenia
After the completion of the seminar students will know different aspects of international economics. They will be able to provide extensive literature reviews. Moreover, they will be able to analyze various economic relationships in the international context, use advanced modeling techniques and develop their own theoretical and empirical models.

Kryteria oceniania
The main assessment criterion for the winter semester is the submission of the extensive literature review and the detailed plan of the thesis by the end of the semester. The main assessment criterion for the summer semester is the submission of the final version of the thesis. In addition students are required to make two presentations documenting their progress toward the completion of the thesis.
