MKJO Empowering Change: designing social innovations in education 2300-KJO/ECH
Course Contents:
1. Introduction to group project assumptions: discussion of project goals, conditions, and assessment criteria.
2. Introduction to the issue of social innovations: creating project teams, introducing the concept of social innovations, and reviewing existing theories and models.
3. Needs analysis and target group selection: identifying key educational problems and determining the group whose needs will be addressed.
4. Problem definition – data synthesis and analysis: data collection and analysis, defining the problem that will serve as the basis for the project work.
5. Generating ideas for solving the problem: creatively searching for solutions and strategies based on theoretical and psychological knowledge.
6. Choosing methods and strategies based on psychological knowledge: utilizing pedagogical and psychological models and theories to develop a problem-solving strategy.
7. Designing prototype solutions: creating prototypes and discussing their implementation possibilities.
8. Developing the project timeline and budget (e.g., using the Canvas business model): creating the project timeline, budget, and business model.
9. Public project presentation in PITCH DECK format: students will publicly present their projects using the PITCH DECK format to showcase key elements of their innovation.

Efekty kształcenia
Upon completion of the course, the student:
- Describes the issue of human functioning in the social environment, points out explanatory theories, and discusses research methods in psychology and pedagogy.
- Formulates a practical problem and proposes its solution based on psychological knowledge, and prepares a group project according to the proposed scheme and methodology.
- Prepares presentations and written texts in accordance with required substantive and formal criteria.
- Actively participates in teamwork at every stage of the project, including problem identification, data collection, analysis, and presentation of results.
- Utilizes expert opinions from the educational field and other fields to solve the identified social or practical problem.
- Justifies the choice of problem and solution method while adhering to ethical and social responsibility principles.
Kryteria oceniania
1. Active participation in discussions and analysis of literature – engagement during discussions will be assessed.
2. Teamwork on the project – students will work in teams to develop an educational innovation project.
3. Preparation and submission of the project – projects must meet substantive and formal criteria, including problem analysis, timeline, and budget.
4. Project presentation in PITCH DECK format – the final part of the course involves a public project presentation, which will be a significant part of the grade.
5. Final assessment – based on course participation, project quality, teamwork skills, and presentation.
