Ionic Liquids 1200-3EN-MON11L
Structure, methods of synthesis and properties of ionic liquids will be discussed. Studies of physicochemical properties of ionic liquid solutions (miscibility with water and organic solvents, viscosity, excess molar volume and others). Examples of current practical application of ionic liquids in chemistry (organic synthesis), biotechnology, chemical engineering, electrochemistry.
Estimated student workload per semester: 37.5 hours, including:
• 15 hours of class participation
• 7.5 hours of reading literature and consultation
• 15 hours of exam preparation

After completing the lecture, the student:

K_W05, Has in-depth knowledge and skills in the selected chemical specialization, allowing them to use the methods and concepts appropriate for this specialization and enabling independent research.
K_W08, Has advanced knowledge and skills in computational methods appropriate for a given chemical specialization.
K_W10, Has a good understanding of current developments in chemistry and the latest scientific discoveries in a given chemical specialization.
SKILLS
After completing the lecture, the student:
K_U08, Has advanced knowledge and skills enabling them to use professional literature, databases, and other sources of information, and is able to assess the reliability of the information obtained.
K_U11, Can discuss the place of chemistry in the system of exact and natural sciences and its importance for the development of our civilization.
