Jaką wiedzę, umiejętności i kompetencje zdobędziesz na tym kierunku Podczas studiów drugiego stopnia rozwiniesz swoje kompetencje językowe oraz pogłębisz wiedzę z zakresu językoznawstwa, dydaktyki języków obcych, psychologii i pedagogiki. Udoskonalisz znajomość języka angielskiego oraz – w zależności od wybranej specjalności – języka francuskiego, niemieckiego lub zagadnień związanych z edukacją obywatelską. Studia wspierają rozwój umiejętności potrzebnych w codziennej pracy nauczyciela i pomagają kształtować własny styl nauczania. W trakcie studiów uczysz się rozpoznawać problemy, z którymi nauczyciel spotyka się w codziennej pracy, i szukać dla nich praktycznych rozwiązań. Możesz również pracować jako lektor w szkołach językowych w Polsce i za granicą, prowadzić kursy, szkolenia i własną działalność edukacyjną. Czy na kierunku studiów są różne specjalności i specjalizacje Wszyscy studiują nauczanie języka angielskiego. W ramach drugiej specjalności wybierasz jedną z trzech specjalności: nauczanie języka niemieckiego, nauczanie języka francuskiego lub nauczanie przedmiotu edukacja obywatelska. Wszystkie specjalności realizujemy w Centrum Kształcenia Nauczycieli Języków Obcych i Edukacji Europejskiej UW. Czego będziesz się uczyć na studiach Na kierunku Nauczanie języków obcych rozwijasz zaawansowaną wiedzę językową oraz kompetencje niezbędne do nauczania w zróżnicowanych kontekstach edukacyjnych. Uczysz się projektowania materiałów dydaktycznych, planowania i prowadzenia lekcji, wykorzystywania narzędzi cyfrowych oraz dostosowywania procesu nauczania do potrzeb i możliwości uczniów. Zajęcia mają charakter praktyczny, są prowadzone w małych grupach i zachęcają do krytycznego spojrzenia na własne decyzje i działania jako nauczyciela. Studia kończą się przygotowaniem pracy magisterskiej o charakterze badawczym, opartej na samodzielnie zaprojektowanym i przeprowadzonym badaniu dotyczącym edukacji językowej i przyswajania języków. Oferujemy seminaria magisterskie prowadzone w języku angielskim, niemieckim i francuskim. Czy podczas studiów będziesz realizować praktyki Praktyki odbywają się w szkołach ponadpodstawowych i są częścią studiów.. Realizujesz je etapami – zaczynasz od obserwacji, a w kolejnych semestrach prowadzisz już własne lekcje. Równolegle bierzesz udział w warsztatach, podczas których omawiasz swoje doświadczenia, planujesz zajęcia i przygotowujesz się do konkretnych zadań w szkole. Praktyki odbywasz w wybranej przez siebie szkole. Są rozłożone na kilka semestrów – zwykle nie więcej niż jedne na semestr, przy czym w niektórych semestrach ich nie ma. Knowledge – the graduate knows and understands:
- to an in-depth degree chosen facts, theories, institutions, processes and phenomena related to the field of studies teaching foreign languages: linguistics, literary studies, pedagogy and education studies, psychology, culture and religion studies and history and those related to the study areas relevant to the teaching of social studies: politics, administration and public policy studies, social sciences, public communication and media studies, law, which have practical application in teaching foreign languages at the third educational stage and in adult and higher education
- the methods (based on education research), norms, procedures and standards of practice in various educational institutions, including institutions of higher education, related to the teaching foreign languages and social studies
- in an orderly manner, various educational and care-giving environments, their specificity and functioning
- to an advanced degree the purpose, organization, legal basis and functioning of educational, care-giving, therapeutic and cultural institutions
- various participants involved in educational, care-giving and cultural activities, inclusive education and ways of implementing the principle of inclusion

Skills – the graduate is able to:
- search, analyse, evaluate, select and use information, using a variety of sources and meth-ods, including advanced information and communication techniques, in Polish and English
- individually plan and implement, using also communication and information techniques, typical and innovative projects connected with teaching foreign languages in secondary schools, vocational schools, in adult and higher education and in other educational institutions involved in teaching foreign languages and in teaching social studies at the third educational stage
- evaluate and conduct a critical analysis of the quality of foreign language teaching and the quality of teaching social studies; diagnose the needs, abilities and potential of every learner, as well as design and implement individually tailored teaching and educational programmes
- apply the assumptions and requirements of the core curriculum for teaching English and social studies at the third educational stage and the requirements for language teaching in higher education
- use theories in psychology, pedagogy and education and other related disciplines to critically analyse and interpret educational, social, care-giving and cultural issues, as well as understand the motives and patterns of human behaviour
- formulate and test hypotheses to conduct a critical analysis of their own actions and identify possible areas for change in the future
- use their knowledge – formulate and solve complex and untypical problems and perform tasks in an innovative manner in unpredictable conditions through adapting existing methods and tools or creating new ones
- plan a language teaching course and programme suited to a full range of recipients in their social environment and various areas of economic, academic and social life
- communicate on specialised topics and conduct an argument using the views of other au-thors and formulate conclusions in Polish and English
- speak and write consistently and precisely in Polish and in English on topics related to educational matters, applying different theoretical approaches and using findings from other disciplines related to the field of studies
- use language skills at CEFR level C1+ in English, including the specificity of academic language and that of classroom communication and the second foreign language (lektorat) at CEFR level B1+
- using their well-developed organisational skills, plan and carry out tasks related to the teaching foreign languages at the third educational stage and in higher and adult education and to the teaching of social studies at the third educational stage
- perform the various roles required for working as a team, is willing to accept and assign tasks and possesses the organisational skills necessary in designing and implementing professional educational activities; can act as a team leader
- provide first aid
- animate the work of the learner and promote independence in knowledge acquisition, inspir-ing a positive approach to lifelong learning and responsibility in making educational and professional decisions
Social competences – the graduate is prepared to:
- critically reflect on the level of their skills and knowledge, constantly develop professionally and personally, self-assess their competences, improve their skills, plan their development and training, consult experts in case of difficulties
