Studia II stopnia artes liberales to międzydziedzinowy program kształcenia adresowany do absolwentów interdyscyplinarnych i tradycyjnych kierunków studiów. Pozwala na zdobycie wszechstronnej wiedzy z zakresu nauk humanistycznych, społecznych i przyrodniczych w ramach jednej z trzech ścieżek kształcenia. Studenci komponują plan studiów w dużej części samodzielnie – ponad 2/3 programu stanowią zajęcia do wyboru.
Ważnym celem kierunku jest rozwijanie umiejętności prowadzenia badań interdyscyplinarnych. Służą temu seminaria dziedzinowe oraz kształcenie sprofilowane według zainteresowań studentów, realizowane poprzez wybór jednej ze ścieżek kształcenia.
W ramach studiów II stopnia na kierunku artes liberalesrealizowane są trzy ścieżki kształcenia:

Zasady wyboru ścieżek kształcenia
Student decyduje o wyborze ścieżki kształcenia, kierując się własnymi zainteresowaniami, poprzez wybór dwóch seminariów dziedzinowych oraz zajęć i kursów z odpowiedniego modułu kształcenia (humanistyczny, społeczny, przyrodniczy).
Zajęcia odbywają się w budynku Kolegium Artes Liberales przy ul. Dobrej 72, w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie ogrodów Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Zajęcia planowane są od poniedziałku do piątku w godzinach 8.00 – 20.00.

Absolwent studiów II stopnia artes liberales
Absolwent artes liberales ma interdyscyplinarną wiedzę z zakresu nauk humanistycznych, społecznych i przyrodniczych, pozwalającą mu swobodnie opisywać, analizować i rozumieć zjawiska z pogranicza tych nauk. Rozumie zależności między dyscyplinami w obrębie nauk humanistycznych, społecznych i przyrodniczych i potrafi zastosować tę wiedzę do analizy dzieł artystycznych, tekstów kultury i zjawisk społecznych. Rozumie rolę człowieka w przyrodzie.
Absolwent jest przygotowany do prowadzenia samodzielnej, interdyscyplinarnej pracy badawczej łączącej elementy nauk humanistycznych, społecznych i przyrodniczych. W szczególności absolwent potrafi samodzielnie formułować problemy i pytania badawcze, krytycznie odnosić się do tekstów naukowych w w/w dziedzinach oraz pisać teksty spełniające wymogi naukowości w języku polskim i języku obcym. Seminaria badawcze zapewniają absolwentom umiejętności warsztatowe pozwalające na kontynuację nauki na studiach doktoranckich.
Absolwent artes liberales jest gotów do podjęcia pracy w międzykulturowym i różnorodnym środowisku. Potrafi samodzielnie formułować problemy i rozwiązywać je za pomocą odpowiednio wybranych środków. Jest świadomy zmienności warunków panujących na rynku pracy i gotowy do kształcenia się przez całe życie.
