American Film in the 21st Century 4219-SD0043
The course provides a survey of American cinema in the first two and a half decades of the 21st century. Using the lens of selected film titles (a film a week), individual classes will focus on the transformations of the film industry and its technological advancements as well as recent cinematic phenomena. Instead of historicizing the last quarter of a century, the course will emphasize film analysis and film literacy.
