Urban design 4208-PUc
Exercises are designed to introduce students to the issues of urban design and its practical side. Students become familiar with the determinants that affect the shape of the surrounding area and recognize the tools shaping the spatial order and methods that help to obtain it. During the classes students learn the mechanisms of planning and decision-making and have the opportunity to participate in the simulation of such a process.
During the course, students individually or in groups develop different parts of Study of the Conditions and Directions of the Spatial Management of a Commune. They are confronted with the real problems and challenges that need to be formulated and described.
Students are to propose solutions and to perform analysis of the conditions and directions of development (of a commune). They should offer several variants of the solution.
The course may be modified and it depends on students’ skills, expectations and progress.
