EUROREG 1- seminar 4208-M1EUR
It is a series of seminars - lectures presented by theorists and practitioners, related with regional development and development policy, representing scientific and public administration institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations. The series is the effect of collaboration of three institutions: EUROREG, the Polish Section of Regional Studies Association and the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development. Both theoretical lectures and results of scientific research are presented, as well as presentations of practitioners representing EU institutions, central, regional and local administration. After each presentation the audience can ask questions and discuss with the speakers. English on at least B2+ level.

Learning outcomes
(1) student knows how to choose data from literature and other sources, in Polish or other language (K_U11)
(2) He/she can formulate conclusions and justify opinions basing on his/her own knowledge and information acquired from literature, databases and other sources (K_U11)
He/she is able independently enlarge his/her knowledge in the field of urban and regional studies making use of their interdisciplinary character (K_K02)
Assessment criteria
At each seminar, every student asks the speaker at least one question related to the presentation. Questions should be related to the subject of the presentation, be formulated in a comprehensible way, be logical and coherent and giving the speaker possibility to answer during the discussion after the presentation. Within 2 days after the seminar, the student sends the question asked to the course coordinator. If the course of the discussion at the seminar makes it impossible to ask a question during the class, the student only sends the question by e-mail.
Every student has the right to two unjustified absences. A greater number of absences can result in lowering the grade (-10 points for each absence, the maximum number of points to be gained during the semester being 100).
Confirmation of attendance at the seminar is signing the attendance list.
