Quantitative economic, social and spatial analyzes - a researcher's workshop-lecture 4208-IAE-w
The lecture is devoted to various quantitative and qualitative techniques suitable for solving particular spatial socio-economic problems. It provides an overview of many modern statistical and econometric methods, from simple indicators and descriptive statistics to advanced economic and econometric models. The core elements of the lecture refer to the introduction of different research techniques through reading and discussing research papers and reports, and showing how application of different methods leads to solving particular problems. The main focus is on practical examples which show how the technique was applied in various cases, both in Poland and abroad. The examples will include the application of the methods for policy evaluations, economic decision-making, forecasting socio-economic phenomena, and many other practical applications. Familiarity with those techniques is useful in public administration, consulting, and research institutions.
