Literature of French - speaking countries for language teachers 4100-IVLITFRA
The classes are devoted to the issue of including literature in the glottodidactic process (for teaching French) at the third stage of education and at universities. The classes will deepen general issues, such as the development of literature and the importance of developing literary competence in the process of teaching a foreign language. Students will be able to learn more about topics such as literature for older youth and adults, as well as the most important selected literary works, including those belonging to the canon. The classes will mainly use prose works, including: of an autobiographical nature. Additionally, methods and techniques of introducing a literary component to language learning at the third stage of education and in higher education will be discussed, including: criteria for selecting materials, literary texts and other materials with literature, types of exercises that can be offered to foreign language learners, developing language skills and cultural competence when working with literature in a language class.
Selected literary genres will be discussed in more detail.

S_U04: apply the assumptions and requirements of the core curriculum for French for the third stage of education and the requirements of language education in higher education

Assessment criteria
• Course completion requirements
In order to pass the course, students must attend classes (one absence per semester is permitted) and complete all partial tasks assigned during both classroom and e-learning classes on time.
The final grade is determined on the basis of the results obtained using the accepted assessment methods and criteria, in accordance with the specified weightings.
The use of AI tools and language processing technologies is permitted only with the consent of the lecturer and after prior approval of their scope of application.
The use of such tools without the consent of the lecturer and prior agreement will be treated as a violation of the principles of independence, resulting in the work being considered non-independent and receiving a failing grade.
• Assessment methods:
1. Project carried out in small groups: (50%) — selection of a topic related to the course, research and selection of appropriate authentic documents, preparation of a lesson plan and conducting the lessons (S_W01, S_W02, S_U01, S_U02, S_U04, S_K03, S_K09).
2. Final test (50%) – test checking knowledge of the issues discussed during the classes and the ability to analyse them (S_W01, S_W02, , S_U01, S_K01).
Assessment criteria and their weighting:
• Project carried out in small groups (50 points):
- compliance with the educational level: 10 points
- relevance of the activities proposed in the lesson plan and their methodological justification: 15 points
- clarity and linguistic correctness of the proposed activities and the instructor's statements during the class, as well as the correctness of the solutions proposed in the answer key: 15 points
- accuracy of the discussion in the methodological commentary: 10 points

• scope of knowledge and linguistic correctness of answers
• Grading scale (with pass threshold):
60% -68% - satisfactory
69%-76% - satisfactory plus
77%-84% - good
85%-92% - good plus
93%- 100% - very good
